Do you need a CE marking for your products, but don't yet know how to get one? We will be happy to advise you on all questions relating to the conformity assessment procedure. We will explain to you which standards give rise to a presumption of conformity for your product and support you in determining where and how you may need to submit which documents in order to be allowed to affix the CE mark to your products.

What is a declaration of conformity and what is a CE marking?

The CE declaration of conformity is a written and binding confirmation that the manufacturer or authorized representative has tested the respective product for its properties and that the properties comply with the legal requirements (EC or EU directives and regulations) and are listed in full in the declaration of conformity.

CE marking

The CE marking must be affixed or displayed by the person placing a product or service on the market. It is intended to show that the product or service "complies with the applicable requirements set out in the Community harmonization legislation providing for its affixing." (EU Regulation 765/2008).
The CE marking or CE mark should not be confused with a seal of quality.

You need a CE certificate of conformity for this

Products that are made available on the European market must be assessed to determine which requirements from which European legal acts (directives and regulations) must be fulfilled. Many European legal acts require that the products that meet the requirements are marked with the CE mark as a sign of this. Products that do not fall under one of the legal acts that require CE marking are regulated in Germany by the Product Safety Act, which transposes the European Product Safety Regulation (2001/95/EC) into German law.

What does CE stand for?

"CE" stands for "Communauté Européenne", i.e. "European Community". Depending on the language area, the associated directives were previously EC directives (German, G = Gemeinschaft) or EC directives (English, C = Community). With the New Legislative Framework, future directives will be referred to as EU directives. This change has already been completed for some directives. In our news you will find a constantly updated list of new and old designations.
